Here are some first ideas for a documentation structure.
At first: why are the help information in the right hand site menu (ID-editor) not mentioned on the Wiki starting page? Why are they not included in the ‘Learn more’ area?
The main focus of the documentation should be: how can I work with a feature to get the best result instead of there is a feature and there is a sub page that describes more details of the feature functions but without how to work. (i,.e iD - OpenStreetMap Wiki

This is only a very first draft. By writing this post I found some pages in the wiki I never saw before. I assume that there will be several sources and pages I didn’t found. May be we should think about the navigation.

I love this start. It’s a great foundation for us to start filling out content.
Do you have any thoughts on the best way to collaborate around this documentation? Is it the Wiki? Is it something else? I’m way out of date on my awareness of best tools for collaboratively working on what can / should be a finished product.
Have you seen LearnOSM?
Hi Jeff
hi all,
just a quick note.
The wiki is based on Mediawiki. Mediawiki is used for Wikipedia and everyone knows that its used daily by masses of people to work collaborative on documents. I don’t think it makes sense to discuss other tools.
At first we should try to build a group of people who are interested to work on the documentation…
For an intensive discussion we can use a webinar platform. Today there is no problem to give permission for a session .
In wiki we can prepare sites without linking the sites direct from OHM start site OpenHistoricalMap - OpenStreetMap Wiki
The group needs contact to someone with the permission to create new sites in the wiki. The default user can edit existing pages but not create new sites. . It would be helpfull that one or two in the team have more experience in working with wikimedia. Its years ago that I worked a little bit with wikimedia.
From my experience everyone can work in a documentation team. If you are interested, if you have some time, can read and write English texts AND have some experience with OHM you are welcome.
If you have concerns about your English knowledge don’t worry. My English is far from being perfect. We can organize the process that the text drafts are finally edited by a native speaker. I learned over time that the international standard is not perfect English. The standard is simple English. And today tools like Deepl.com are your best friend.
Give yourself a push, say ‘Hello, I’m in.’
Cheers Ralf

Hi Ralf - any updates on progress here?
I will soon have a how-to I’d like your help with: working with boundary relations.
It’s a little bit of an advanced topic, but something where we should have pretty detailed instructions, as it’s fairly easy to mess up. I’ve recently reacquainted myself with many of these ways to mess it up, so hopefully, I’ll be able to provide some guidance on what to avoid.
