Paris, France (woefully undermapped in OHM!) is hosting Wikimania 2026 on 21-25 July, 2026.
Their organizers have invited members of our community to apply for a travel scholarship, with the very soon deadline of 31 Oct. Who wouldn’t want a paid trip to Paris
to talk about OHM and Wikimedia stuff?

The theme of the conference is one I think our community can appreciate: Liberté, Équité, Fiabilité (Freedom, Equity, Reliability).
There’s no need to speak or present, just to be active in the Wikimedia Community, which may typically involve direct involvement, but might also include activities that help expand the reach of Wikimedia content, as with OHM. And, if you’re aren’t active, there’s no time like the present.
I’m hoping to have a presentation put together to highlight the work we’re doing to be a good complement to Wikimedia and to be a good steward of how their content is used on our site. But… that’s an exercise for a later date.
If you have an idea for a presentation or a demo to show off at Wikimania, please consider applying to present, as well. I know a few people who might fit this bill around here.
Presentation applications will not open until January, and selection criteria will be announced in November. That means plenty of time to work on the idea, to do some mapping, maybe throw in some QLever queries across OHM and Wikidata, and to pressure the dev team to release any features or styling you’d need to support your work!
